Low-Flow Showerheads

Adding a low-flow showerhead to your home is an easy way to save energy and conserve resources. Your will save money and reduce your environmental footprint by not only reducing the total amount of water used, but reducing amount of hot water used in your home.

Facts about reducing shower water usage:

  • Showers account for 22% of individual water use in North America.
  • Low flow shower-heads help reduce water waste, but don’t lower shower head pressure.

Most showerheads that use 2.5 gpm (gallons per minute) or less are considered “low-flow”. However, there are some showerheads that go much lower - down to around 1.0 gpm - and still provide an adequate amount of pressure. Keep in mind, however, that it is difficult to get an exact gpm measurement for a given model of showerhead - it can be dependent on the water pressure in your home.
